I have a Fiat Ducato 3.0L 160 Multijet, 2007. I have the engine warning light up, although no symptons and seems to drive just fine. I've had someone look at the fault codes which I've listed below. P0403 P0683 P0401 P250A They have recommended either replacing the EGR valve or blanking it off. Both quotes are quite high as the garage have said
I want to share my experience with fiat ducato. We have bought 7 ducato vans 2.3jtd during 2008. We must say that we are very happy with their power and space. However, almost all of them had problems. 5 of the vans changed their brakes in less than 20000 km. 2 gearbox problems. 3 changed clutch cyliders.
My 2004 2.8 JTD Ducato belt was changed each 60k miles and last time it cost me just under £300 (2018) incl water pump and tensioners, by a local indie. I now have a 3.0 160 multijet with chain but remember when the chain on my Mitsubishi 2.8 Pajero snapped and effectively wrote the car off so chains are less hassle regarding maintenance but
I believe the 3 litre engine was dropped from the Fiat range partly for political reasons and partly for emmisions. It was an Iveco engine and Iveco wanted to upspec it a bit to get over 200hp in the daily but then didnt want let Fiat have the same engine. The later version was E5 and I think it needed a bit more development to get to 6 because
I have been reading reports that incidents of juddering have occured when reversing motorhomes using a 2.3 Ducato engine. No juddering, but it is not happy reversing uphill when fully loaded, the reverse gear is still higher than it should be, I just increase the revs , but the clutch complains, would have loved a Comfortmatic to ease the problem.
